Ålesund

Ålesund Airport Vigra is the largest airport between Bergen and Trondheim. The airport is centrally located compared to some of the most important tourist attractions of Norway. The Art Nouveau Town of Ålesund, the Geirangerfjord, Trollstigen and the glacier Briksdalsbreen can easily be reached from Ålesund Airport Vigra.

Domestic air connections are good, with direct flights to Oslo, Bergen and Trondheim. The distance Ålesund-Oslo is operated by both SAS and Norwegian. The last few years, the airport has also established new direct international flights. Currently, there are direct routes to London, Alicante, Copenhagen and Riga with good connections to and from other international destinations. SAS, Norwegian and airBaltic are the flight companies operating regular traffic to and from Ålesund Airport Vigra.

The coastal town of Måløy on the island of Vågsøy is Norway’s most important fishing port, exporting fish products to destinations across the globe. Måløy surrounded by mountains, lies where the fjord meets the sea, remote and peaceful. The island surrounded by lighthouses has a beautiful silver sand beach and is close to the famous Kannesteinen, a rock, molded by the sea into a spectacular mushroom-like shape.

If the weather is good we will take a stop in Skageflå.

Surrounded by a breathtaking Alpine landscape of sharp mountain peaks and glaciers,this magnificent fjord is an ideal base for hiking in the Sunnmøre Alps, which soar up to 5,000 feet above sea level.If the weather is nice, we will make a stop at Skageflå and tend to those who want to hike Skageflå-Holmlong. It is a hike that takes a bout 4-6 hours.

Skageflå is a remote mountain farm overlooking The Seven Sisters Waterfall in the UNESCO-listed Geirangerfjord.

It is quite possibly one of the most scenic places you will ever visit. If you dont want to take the hike, you can stay on board and enjoy the beautiful nature. Information from here.

The final leg of the voyage takes us to Ålesund, “adventure capital of the fjords”. This coastal pearl located on a cluster of islands is famed for its Art Nouveau architecture resplendent with turrets, spires and beautiful ornamentation. It is also an excellent starting point for excursions to some of Norway’s most spectacular sights.
